Chairman Board of Trustee ,Wike Solidarity Movement (WSM) Hon. (Sir) Gabriel Pidomson PhD has said that the declaration of the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike to seek reelection in 2019 is heartwarming to the people of the state as they had long awaited it. Gabriel Pidomson who said this in an interview with a Radio Rivers reporter in Port Harcourt noted that with the declaration, PDP is now set to showcase what he called the “big fish” to the public during the campaigns which will soon commence.

In his words he said:
” We’ve been waiting for that declaration for a long time and now he has declared, that’s why you see that the whole state is calm because now we are activating our strategies and very soon the campaigns will start and when it starts everybody that is in the river will know that a big fish has surfaced so we are happy that finally he has declared and you know come 2019,we are going back to the Government House”

Commenting on the disruption of Phalga Constituency III Bye Election by the APC factional chairman Ojukaye Flag Amachree and men of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS), Dr. Pidomson said the move had exposed the tactics that the APC planned to use for 2019 elections, stressing that the plan cannot work in Rivers State. He also stated that the PDP in the state is not loosing sleep over the adoption of Tonye Cole as the governorship candidate of the Rotimi Amaechi’s faction of the APC.

He further revealed “One thing that the APC fails to realize that, this election is not going to be like any other election and that is one thing I’ll want every person in the PDP who is not aware of the strategies that is being adopted for this election to know. What happened in Phalga was a pilot, was actually a PDP pilot; I want to reveal to you people now, that it was a PDP pilot to test what the APC is planning and they just fell into it, so we know their strategies and we know how to mitigate that strategy and so I would want to call on all members of the PDP not to be afraid, be courageous, we have strategies to mitigate what happened that day because they have exposed all they can do. Who ever the APC brings as their gubernatorial candidate does not bother us, it’s how we are going to deliver the dividends of democracy to the state that is what bothers us; that is what we are thinking about now “

The former Secretary to Rivers State Government and one -time lawmaker observed that what is paramount to the PDP is how to continue to provide the dividends of democracy to the people of the state after 2019 elections.
